As you are all aware, Alaska Rural Water Association lost EPA funding that enabled us to bring much needed no-charge training to your communities. This training allowed your operators to obtain CEUs with minimal or no travel expense involved. All state associations are working with the National Rural Water Association to get this funding restored, but we need your help to be successful! It is imperative that National Rural Water Association provide the EPA with documentation to show that you, as public water systems, want this training returned to you.

We have made it fast and easy for you to demonstrate your support! Simply click on the link for a support letter template found on our website here. Follow the directions by copying the letter onto your own community letterhead, sign, and send to our office. Be sure you complete the areas of the letter highlighted in red! Return signed letter to ARWA by Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Completed letters may be mailed to ARWA at 1075 Check Street, Suite 106, Wasilla, AK 99654-8067, faxed to 907-357-1400, or emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . DO NOT SEND THE LETTER TO THE EPA. We will be collecting and holding all letters until National Rural Water Association requests them from us. They will see to it that all support letters from across the country are delivered appropriately. The goal, nationwide, is to obtain more than 26,000 letters of support. Alaska must do its part to demonstrate the need for this funding to be restored!

Remember, without your written support, on letterhead, we reduce our chances of being able to bring you no-charge training.
